Result 1 Training Manual for Supporting Later-life Career Choices


The Training Manual for Supporting Later-life Career Choices is a set of learning modules, guidelines and practical tools to support C_VET professionals in providing later-life careers guidance and counselling and facilitating later-life career choices. This SASSI LLC Training approach was tested in a four-stage piloting and insights and recommendation from the pilots were documented in the transnational piloting report and Trainers’ Case Study.

1.a Trainer Manual

A collection of guiding tools and methods for providing later-life career guidance and counselling, and facilitating later-life career choices

1.b Competence framework and Assessment Pack

A repository of competences, presents these competences in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes, and offers an assortment of assessment methods suitable for different contexts.

1.c Training for Supporting Later-life Career Choices Modules

A blended modular training to provide new approaches for delivering career guidance in later stages of life.

1.d Training for Supporting Later-life Career Choices Workbooks

Accompanying workbooks for the training modules, providing the curricula and group activities.

1.e Transnational Piloting Report

The report detailing the piloting activities involving 127 final users across 5 countries, as well as conclusions and recommendations for the future.

1.f Trainer’s case study

Containing 11 examples of the practical application of the SASSI Methodology from the piloting. It serves as a guide and reflection future uptake of the SASSI LLC training resources and approach.

Result 2 Ambassadors for Mobility in Later-life

To promote the advantages of mobility and work experience for career redirection and CPD amongst older workers, unretirees and job seekers, 14 SASSI Ambassadors were recruited. These Ambassadors played a crucial role in raising awareness about the value of mobility for older adults, helping to broaden participation in such activities across Europe.

2.a Ambassadors Guide for mobility in later-life

The Guide is a self-study resource, developed to support Ambassadors in promoting the advantages of mobility and work experience for career redirection and CPD amongst older workers, unretirees and job seekers.

2.b Mobility Database

A platform connecting older workers with mobility opportunities that match their interests and needs.

2.c Ambassadors Flyers

Dissemination tool that helps Ambassadors to introduce SASSI LLC concept

2.d Ambassadors‘ stories

Testimonies and reflections of 13 SASSI Ambassadors to inspire other older workers/learners, and to encourage more uptake of SASSI Approach by C-VET professionals through the demonstration of direct impact to the final beneficiaries.

Result 3:  Guide to Becoming an Olderpreneur.

Designed as a resource for C-VET Professionals to apply, this Guide is a six-part toolkit for supporting and re-skilling older workers to become self-employed, social entrepreneurs, digital entrepreneurs and/or approaches to establishing Legacy Careers (ie. “putting something back into society”). Use of guide and its principles are included as a module in the blended learning programme for detailed in R1 – Supporting Later-life Career Choices.

Result 4: Toolbox for Supporting Later-life Careers

The toolbox is an online repository of training and practical contents. It has been specifically designed for use by C-VET Professionals, HR Managers, and careers coaches to support older workers and those who actively want to make changes to their later working life. It contains:

  • online competence assessment and talent management tools
  • a glossary of key terms
  • a library of films, videos, podcasts, books and games
  • a collection in inspiring good practices,
  • contacts of national organisations.
